Oktoberfest 2015

Well here I am after along time of absence! I am finally back and now in the great city of Munich. I didn’t settle in yet but that is no excuse to miss Germany’s most reputable and fun tradition – the Wiesn or what is commonly known as Oktoberfest!

There is not much to tell you guy about it. Really its just beer and all you can drink of it with Bavaria’s best dishes on the side. The second best thing in Munich is the traditional clothing everybody is running around in. Men in tight Lederhose and Women in romantic/sexy Dirndls dominate the scene like the Anna Wintours of Fashion Week.
There are different kinds of Dirndls. You have the tranditional handmade Dirndls like the one i am wearing or you have the more modern designer Dirndls like the ones designed by Lola Paltinger. Now whichever style you chose to adopt you must keep in mind that wearing a Dirndl comes with styling rules just like any other styled look you daily wear.

Rule #1: No Barbie-Colors! The Dirndl is already feminine on its own and 50 shades of pink will not add value to its femininity. In fact it will make you look simply like a clueless child. We are not 5 ladies…

Rule #2: Do not wear Knee-socks or Kniestrümpfe with your Dirndl. Not that it is unpleasant to look at, but the Dirndl is so beautiful that you shouldn’t create a distraction from it. Let your Dirndl be the center of attention.

Rule #3: Avoid wearing a hat. I know many get tempted to wear the traditional hat but there is so much one can do with hair-styling that it would be a pity to cover those lovely dreads with a hat! #Fact
